Been coming here for 3 years now. I love how quick they are and how affordable it is especially living in greenpoint where everything is so expensive. I used to have a bad living situation where I just did not want to use the kitchen. As a result, I used to come here and get meals for the week because I knew it would not break the bank. The chow fun is fun and definitely filling. Some times the vegetable fried rice isn't as flavorful, but that's why you get fried rice with some type of meat. My favorite dish to get here has been the general tso chicken or the sesame chicken. It's funny bc they're like the same thing except one has sesame seeds, but sometimes you just want a little bit of a different thing. There isn't a place to sit, but the place reminds me of growing up in the Bay Area on the west coast. It's small and looks like it's family run. Anyone who says service is bad doesn't understand the secret behind Chinese fast food places and needs to add some spice on their palate.

Best boneless spare ribs I've had in my life!! These are not greasy or anything! They are still perfectly seasoned and full of proper flavor.

Hoplee is a hidden gem. I've been a customer for as long as I can remember. It's the best Chinese food spot in Greenpoint, dare I even say BK and LIC area. The boneless spare ribs, baby shrimp, sesame chicken, chicken& broccoli, and fries are our favorite. They used to serve tostones (fried green plantains). Hoping they will bring that back on the menu. Regardless, the portions are large and consistent. We are loyal customers. The staff knew my family so well that when we called to place an order for delivery, we were never asked for our address. When I moved to queens plaza, I checked out the local spots but none came even close. After the let downs, I didn't eat Chinese food for months except when I was in Greenpoint. Cravings hit so I paid the extra fees for Uber deliver from my favorite spot. A $40 order for what would've cost me half the price. I didn't mind tho, their food is that damn good! I've recently moved to Hunter's Point and bumped into one of their staff making a drop off in my building. He asked how my family was doing and sent his regards. After all these years, he remembered - seeing him took me back to my childhood days, when I would order wings and fries after-school, he would be in the kitchen throwing down. Thank you HopLee for all the years of good service and delicious food!!

Easily our favorite Chinese food spot in the area. The food is always great and super consistent, delivery is fast and they give you large portions - what more could you want? We always get fried rice, lo mein, foo young, sesame chicken, dumplings and hot & sour soup. The sesame chicken is so tasty and the hot & sour soup is perfect. What I love most is that the food isn't drenched in sauce, I hate when you get lo mein and it's dripping in sauce - this tastes so good on its own. We usually cover friend rice and lo mein in curry sauce but with the food from here we never do. Great regular spot, consistent, cheap and yummy!

I wonder why their is a 3-star average of rating here. As someone who recently moved to NYC (10 months), I can attest that this has been my go-to restaurant for delivery and take-out. Go-to: chicken wings with rice for $7.50. I prefer white rice. I've got a poor man's palette and it never fails to satiate me. I.e., my portions are typically larger -- I am no rabbit eater -- unless the occasion calls for it. Delivery: Will typically get it delivered. I once had it for 3 meals over the weekend because of an incredibly long week of work. They came through and made me happy. Location: not a place to necessarily eat. If it's raining their is a floor-to-ceiling window that you can sit behind. The kitchen churns our food like a factory, so it's what you'd expect in any tiny spot that dishes that out. Other: They also work their ass off in the kitchen. If you become a regular they sometimes throw in a soda after you and your friends order something big. Price: The cheapest you'll likely find to eat in Greenpoint!
